New in 2020! We collaborated with Coralogix to create the most thorough Elastic Stack training we’ve seen. Elasticsearch 7 is a powerful platform for not just powering search on large websites, but also for analyzing large data sets in milliseconds! It’s a popular technology that’s also a useful talent in today’s work environment. With over 100 lectures and 11 hours of video, this course covers everything from installation through operations.
We’ll go through how to build up search indices on an Elasticsearch 7 cluster (if you require Elasticsearch 5 or 6, we offer other courses for that), as well as how to query that data in a variety of ways. You name it: fuzzy searches, partial matches, search-as-you-type, pagination, sorting. Every session includes hands-on examples where you’ll practice each skill using a virtual computer running Elasticsearch on your own PC.
We’ll look at what’s new in Elasticsearch 7, such as index lifecycle management, type and type mapping deprecation, and a hands-on activity using Elasticsearch SQL.
We’ve also gone into further detail about managing security with the Elastic Stack and how backpressure works with Beats.
We go through the often-overlooked issue of importing data into an Elasticsearch index in detail. You’ll explore several approaches to get Elasticsearch started from massive, existing data sets at scale, whether through raw RESTful searches, scripts employing Elasticsearch APIs, or interaction with other “big data” systems like Spark and Kafka. We’ll also use Logstash and Filebeat to stream data into Elasticsearch, which is widely referred to as the “ELK Stack” (Elasticsearch / Logstash / Kibana) or the “Elastic Stack”.
Elasticsearch is no longer simply for search; it also provides significant aggregation features for structured data. We’ll use Elasticsearch to bucket and analyze data before visualizing it with the Elastic Stack’s web UI, Kibana, and Kibana Lens.
You’ll learn how to manage operations on your Elastic Stack, including how to use X-Pack to monitor the health of your cluster and how to do operational activities such as scaling up your cluster and performing rolling restarts. We’ll also use Amazon Elasticsearch Service and the Elastic Cloud to launch Elasticsearch clusters in the cloud.
For many typical data analysis requirements, Elasticsearch is positioning itself to be a considerably quicker alternative to Hadoop, Spark, and Flink. It’s a crucial tool to grasp, and it’s simple to use! Dive in with me and I’ll show you what all the fuss is about.
