Participants will be able to do the following by the conclusion of this session:
1) Understand how Direct Primary Care (DPC) differs from Fee-For-Service (FFS)
2) Distinguish DPC, concierge, and hybrid methods.
3) Recognize how the DPC model of care may foster creativity and innovation.
4) Understand how federal and Indiana state laws affect DPC practice.
5) Learn how to establish a DPC practice and where to get accessible resources.
Dr. Maxwell Pflieger graduated from the Midwestern University Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine (MWUCCOM) in 2007. She finished her family medicine residency at Denver Health in Denver, CO, in 2010, and then began working there, delivering primary care to medically underserved patients and directing many school-based health clinics. Dr. Maxwell Pflieger has completed fellowship studies to become a credentialed American Board of Obesity Medicine Diplomate after returning to Indiana in 2016. She likes helping her patients discover long-term weight loss options.

Dr. Pflieger graduated from Midwestern University Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine (MWUCCOM) in 2006. In Denver, CO, he finished his family medicine residency at Denver Health. Following his residency, Dr. Pflieger worked as the medical director of a local federally certified health facility, providing full-spectrum treatment. Dr. Pflieger has established a successful vasectomy procedure-based practice since returning to Indiana in 2016, in addition to offering conventional outpatient health care.
