1. Describe the burden of HPV illness and the necessity of HPV vaccination for cancer prevention in your presentation. 2. Inform patients and parents about the new FDA approval and the status of the ACIP recommendations. 3. Provide patients and parents with meaningful and convincing information regarding the HPV vaccination to help them decide whether or not to vaccinate.

The American Osteopathic Association has approved the Maine Osteopathic Association to offer doctors with osteopathic continuing medical education.
The Maine Osteopathic Association has designated this program for a maximum of 2.25 AOA Category 1-A credits and will report CME and specialty credits in proportion to the physician’s involvement in this activity.
Jessica began working with Maine Quality Counts in August 2016 as the Quality Improvement Manager. She is the Clinical Lead for two grant studies, one of which is in its second year of raising HPV vaccination rates in pediatric and general care offices throughout Maine. Ms. Reed formerly worked for the American Cancer Society as the state of Maine Health Systems Manager. Jessica has worked as a Gerontological Nurse Practitioner since 1995. Her professional life has been devoted to each patient’s entitlement to compassionate, comprehensive health care, as well as the importance of health education, cancer prevention/detection, and chronic illness management within primary care health systems. She has over 25 years of expertise producing training programs for patients, carers, clinical staff, hospitals, and other health care professionals. She has worked as a GNP in family practice, long-term rehabilitation institutions, and nursing homes. St. Joseph’s College awarded her a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and the University of Massachusetts Lowell awarded her a Master of Science in Nursing.
