Ph.D. Jon Kabat-Zinn Seminars and goods related to this topic: 8Jon Kabat-Zinn, Ph.D., was featured in Bill Moyer’s PBS special “Healing and the Mind.” He is the executive director of the University of Massachusetts Medical Center’s Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care, and Society. He is an associate professor of medicine in the division of preventive and behavioral medicine and the creator and former head of the UMMC Stress Reduction Clinic. Kabat-Zinn uses mindfulness meditation to help patients decrease stress and cope with chronic pain and a range of diseases, including breast cancer. He was a trainer for the United States Men’s Olympic Rowing Team in 1984, and he is particularly focused in minimizing stress-related disorders among inner-city and prison populations.
