Shinkarate bible for those seeking bravery
Shinkarate (‘new’karate) organization kickboxing teaching.
Instructional video for basic technique. Nothing out of the ordinary.
1h26m total length, largely technique and padwork. At the conclusion, there’s around ten minutes of former tournament highlights.
This is the DVD accompaniment to Kubosaka Sakon’s novel. In the early 2000s, he was a K-1 and K-1 MAX fighter (he didn’t fight often in K-1 and only had a 1-2 K-1 and K-1 Max record), shinkarate champion, All-Japan kickboxing champion, and WPKC World Muay Thai super middleweight champion.
He is now a shinkarate head instructor and manages his own kickboxing/karate studio.

Shinkarate was developed by Kamimura Eiichi, an old-school kyokushin karate fighter who eventually switched to kickboxing in the 1970s. Glove karate regulations are used, which are essentially kyokushin karate “knockdown” rules with boxing gloves and blows to the head allowed. However, scoring differs from traditional kickboxing. Shinkarate is both a legitimate karate style and a sport federation for any dojo/gym that wants to compete in shinkarate competitions even if they do not train karate and instead practice kickboxing or Thai boxing (non-karate fighters are easily recognized in tournament as they wear a white belt to their karate Gi)

Shinkarate is one of Japan’s most prominent and quickly rising amateur kickboxing gyms. Shinkarate competitions are only for amateurs. Fighters that want to go pro compete in pro kickboxing contests.
Almost every Japanese fighter in k-1 had a shinkarate background at one point.
Yuya Yamamoto, who presently fights in KRUSH, is one of the most well-known kickboxers with a shinkarate background.

and Masaaki Noiri, who is presently competing in the Glory World Series.
Shinkarate competitions are labeled G-2, G-3, and G-4 (formerly K-2, K-3, and K-4) based on whether you are an adult, a novice, or a youngster. The distinction is in the amount of protective padding you wear.
Ernesto Hoost is the Shinkarate organization’s technical advisor.
