Sofia Abraham-Hardee D.O/ PhD graduated from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, with a B.S. in Biology with a minor in Biochemistry. She earned her post-baccalaureate degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. In 2007, she earned her osteopathic medical degree from the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine. In 2008, she received her PhD in International Health Education from Virginia Tech. In June 2011, she finished her pediatric internship and residency at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania. Dr. Abraham-Hardee is a board-certified pediatrician and the Medical Director of New Beginning Pediatrics in Blacksburg, Virginia. She also serves as the Department Chair of Pediatrics and the Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine’s Virginia campus.
She received the Golden Apple award in 2014-2015 and again in 2018-2019. She was also named Best Bedside Manner in Our Health Magazine in 2013, 2017, 2018, and 2019. Dr. Hardee is the Chair of Pediatrics at the VCOM-VA campus and now practices at New Beginning Pediatrics.

The American Osteopathic Association has recognized the Virginia Osteopathic Medical Association (VOMA) to conduct osteopathic continuing medical education for doctors. This program is approved for a maximum of 1 AOA Category 1A CME credit by VOMA, and CME credits will be reported in proportion to the level of the physician’s involvement.
