Description
Total Shoulder Arthroplasty (TSA) and Reverse Total Shoulder Arthroplasty (R TSA) have climbed by 243% in the previous decade and will continue to rise as the baby boomer generation enters the workforce. Furthermore, more than one-third of all TSA and R TSA patients are under the age of 64. As surgical procedures have improved and results have improved, therapeutic strategies for TSA patients have remained static and duplicated.
This video will go through how surgeons approach the shoulder, popular prostheses used for TSA and R TSA, and a peer-reviewed “gold standard” 3-phase procedure to assure aggressive treatment services and functional results. We will go through the hazards of postponing total shoulder arthroplasty as well as the advantages of starting treatment right away. We will also look at the rise of younger patients who choose total shoulder arthroplasty and their ability to resume regular activity, including sports.
